“What about I Love Dad!”, as I threw the paper towels back on the supermarket shelf. My youngest daughter and I laughed and joked as we looked around to make sure nobody caught my antics. The paper towels were printed with “I Love Mom” all over them. A wonderful sentiment, but as a full time single father of three, I might have been a bit overly sensitive. It really wasn’t about the paper towels, but more the realization that single dads are barely considered in the media, marketplace, or just in general. I discussed my thoughts about a website with some family and friends and they all seemed to feel it was worth pursuing. But, I really didn’t feel they understood what I was after. To be honest, it took me over a year before I understood myself. I have this saying posted in my kids bedrooms. " Life is measured not by what you do, but what you do for others.' It dawned on me that if I was going to make a difference, it had to be about more than just looking for recognition from outside sources. It had to be about strength and pride from within, It had to start at home, A place that brings thoughts of positve images and fun. A place our kids call Dad's House. Watch as DadsHouse.com grows. This is just the beginning. I will be working on projects such as charities, sporting events, and contests that support the mission of DadsHouse.com to make our kids lives the best possible, and most of all fun!
